I sometimes hear people complaining that they don’t know where to go during weekend. My friends and I have been exploring this city and found out a lot of fun places! Some of them are far at the edge of the city that even Singaporean haven’t been there for their entire life!! Today I would like to introduce the 5 reservoirs/parks in Singapore for you to enjoy with friends and family at anytime 😉
1. MacRitchie Reservoir Park

MacRitchie is the most famous reservoir because it is the oldest one in Singapore. It is well-maintained with proper facilities. I have never finished walking around the reservoir because it is simply too huge for me!! People like to go jogging here but I found it scary because the small trail is just around the reservoir and you may fall off into the water any moment!! Besides the trail around the water, you can also visit the trails at the right side where you can find some small forests with tons of naughty monkeys!!
2. East Coast Park

This is our favorite place. We get to ride bicycles, watch air planes landing or taking off, and eat good seafood in food court. People come here also to BBQ, surfing, swimming, skating or just walk around. It’s definitely the best place for kids and family. If you are very energetic, you can ride all the way to the airport and come back. We did it once crazily and took us more than 3 hours of intensive bike riding. There are also good restaurants hiding somewhere around the area.
3. The Southern Ridges

I was just here once but I love it! It is a 9km walk combining different parks. It links between Kent Ridge Park and Harbour Front and the destination is just right in the center – Vivo City!! The trail is very smooth so it’s easy for people with kids. The most famous place here is the Handerson Waves, which is the highest pedestrian bridge and the structure is just like the waves! There are different views and topics for different parks, so it’s really interesting!
4. Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve

This is the farest place in Singapore that I’ve ever been to. I need to take the MRT to Kranji and then take the bus all the way to the Wetland! It is a lot of fun inside the park because you can bump into lots of animals and insects so it’s not a good place for jogging.. you just gotta stop so many times!!!
5. Upper and Lower Peirce Reservoir

This is definitely not a popular place because there are not too many facilities. People usually visit the reservoir by car because the distance to the entrance is just too far… not really recommended but if you want to explore, it’s still worth a try!
